Oracle DBA, Oracle DBA, Oracle Database Administrator, SAP Basis, Oracle Technical, Lead Oracle DBA - (experience of Oracle and Basis) Pegasus has a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's largest most prestige clients. We are looking for a Database Administrator with extensive experience working with Oracle databases within a large SAP environment. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience and certification with SAP Hana and to represent the team as the Technical Lead for our expanding SAP Hana database estate. About the role: * You will review, maintain, troubleshoot and performance tune critical production databases in a busy data centre environment, while maintaining best practice as suggested by ITIL and industry principles. * You will be involved in the design and build of new systems, including high-availability and disaster recovery solutions. * You will provide technology specialist information for the capabilities of database products, utilities and approaches within the operational support environment, assessing the feasibility of proposed projects to ensure appropriateness of solutions and to maintain alignment with the wider technical framework. * You will lead and resource database related projects. * You will coach and mentor other team members in your technology specialist area. * The successful applicant will be expected to participate in an out-of hour's rota call out system. About you: * Extensive Oracle database administration experience in a production environment plus good knowledge of the underlying Windows and Linux OS. * Experience of SAP Basis or administrating SAP Hana databases would be an advantage * Additional experience with SQL Server 2008, 2012 and 2014 is desirable * Strong core database skills that encompass backup and recovery, SQL, performance tuning and security. * Scripting skills/programming expertise * Experience with Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c * Experience with database High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions * Proficient in leading a database related project, working collaboratively with other teams to ensure success. * Familiarity working in an ITIL environment including change control and ISO 20001 standards
